Welcome to the Stoney Point Stingrays

The Stoney Point Stingrays swim team was established in the Fall of 2005 as a new team within the Iowa YMCA Competitive Swimming Association. We had a very successful first season with 65 swimmers on the team. 25 Stingrays swimmers went to State and 13 went to the Regional swim meet. The passion continued into our Summer Program and we had 60 swimmers participate in the Stoney Point Stingrays Summer 2006 program which is part of the Cedar Rapids Recreation Department Swim League. We have been very pleased with all the support from parents and the participation of the kids.

2006-2007 Season

Head Coach Paul Below and Assistant Coach Greta McChesney are returning with plans for another successful year. We are proud to announce that Ryan York and Tobi Smith will also be joinging the coaching staff.
The hard work that everyone has done over the past has prepared a great foundation for a very exciting upcoming year and thanks to some great fundraising efforts, the team will enjoy new starting platforms and a timing system.

To provide a fun and challenging competitive swim environment where the swimmers will develop life long character skills and healthy fitness lifestyles.

The Stoney Point Stingrays swim team is part of the Cedar Rapids Metropolitan YMCA and is governed by the Iowa YMCA Competition Committee.
